Nassau Detectives Close 23 Cases After Arrest of Oceanside Man on Assault

Following a thorough investigation, Vincent Fredricks, 21, of Neptune Avenue, was arrested without incident. Detectives were able to close 23 additional cases connected to Fredricks, which occurred between January 29, 2024, and March 4, 2024.

WESTBURY, FL – An Oceanside man has been arrested for assault in Westbury, according to Nassau County Third Squad Detectives. The incident occurred on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 6:07 pm.

Detectives reported that officers noticed a black BMW traveling westbound on W. John Street. The vehicle was being driven by a male, with a female in the front passenger seat. Further investigation revealed that the BMW was reported stolen and had been used in multiple crimes across Nassau County.

Officers approached the vehicle after it parked at 1636 Old Country Road. However, the male driver refused to comply with their verbal commands. Instead, he accelerated forward and struck two officers before fleeing eastbound on Old Country Road.

Both injured officers were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Following a thorough investigation, Vincent Fredricks, 21, of Neptune Avenue, and Pia Califano, 20, of 3936 Miller Place, Levittown, were arrested without incident.

The detectives were able to close 23 additional cases connected to Fredricks, which occurred between January 29, 2024, and March 4, 2024.

Pia Califano was found responsible for a Petit Larceny that took place on March 1, 2024. She received an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court, Hempstead, on March 18, 2024.

The defendant, Vincent Fredricks, faces multiple charges including Robbery 3rd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, two counts of Grand Larceny, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, sixteen counts of Petit Larceny, and Attempted Petit Larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, March 8, 2024, at First District Court, Hempstead.
