VALLEY STREAM, NY – A 17-year-old male has been arrested following a stabbing incident at Macy’s in Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream, New York. The altercation between two 17-year-old boys occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, during which one individual stabbed the other twice, once in the arm and once in the back.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by responding officers. He faces charges including second-degree assault, second-degree burglary, and third-degree criminal mischief, with arraignment scheduled in Hempstead.
This incident adds to a series of violent events at Green Acres Mall in recent years. In October 2023, the mall was placed on lockdown after a shoplifting suspect allegedly fired a gun during an attempted theft. Additionally, in March 2022, a worker was shot in the leg by a gunman inside the mall’s Famous Footwear store.
