WASHINGTON, D.C. – Elon Musk, leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under President Trump’s administration, has raised series concerns about discrepancies within the Social Security Administration (SSA). Musk suggests that the SSA’s records may contain inaccuracies, including entries for individuals listed as over 150 years old. He humorously referenced the possibility of “vampires” collecting benefits, highlighting the need for a thorough audit to address these anomalies.

“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security,” Musk posted

The Department of Government Efficiency, established to streamline federal operations and reduce spending, has been actively investigating various agencies for inefficiencies and potential fraud. In addition to scrutinizing the SSA, DOGE has sought access to the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Integrated Data Retrieval System. This move aims to identify and rectify instances of waste, fraud, and abuse within the tax system. However, this initiative has sparked debates over privacy concerns and the extent of DOGE’s authority.

“The logic flow diagram for the Social Security system looks INSANE. No one person actually knows how it works. The payment files that move between Social Security and Treasury have significant inconsistencies that are not reconciled. It’s wild,” Musk said on X.
