An Amityville resident has been arrested as part of an investigation into a fatal overdose that took place in Levittown on February 9, 2024. According to detectives, Maurice Leake, aged 55, was apprehended by Nassau County Narcotics, Vice Squad Detectives from the Major Case Bureau. The arrest was made without incident.
During the arrest, it was discovered that Leake was in possession of various illegal substances. These included three plastic bags of cocaine, 39 plastic bags of crack-cocaine, and 14 plastic bags of heroin.
Leake now faces multiple charges, including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 1st and 2nd degrees, as well as Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court on February 10, 2024, located at 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
