Hamptons Event Benefiting Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation Raises Record-Breaking $450,000 for Cancer Research

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY – The 20th Annual Hamptons Happening, a cornerstone of the summer social scene, celebrated a remarkable achievement by raising a record-breaking $450,000 to benefit the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF).

Over 400 guests, including prominent figures and philanthropists, enjoyed an unforgettable evening at the beautiful Bridgehampton estate of Kenneth and Maria Fishel. The event featured a delectable array of culinary creations from premier chefs and restaurants, a thrilling live auction, and the opportunity to connect with fellow supporters of this important cause.

Honoring Industry Leaders with Prestigious Awards

The SWCRF recognized the outstanding contributions of industry leaders by presenting prestigious awards. Arthur F. Backal, Chief Executive Officer of the Backal Hospitality Group, received the Distinguished Hospitality Award. Chef Francois Payard of Southold Social was honored with the Distinguished Restaurateur Award. Cheri Kaufman, CEO of C iGive and Founding Partner of Kaufman Astoria Studios, was presented with the Distinguished Businesswoman Award.

Additional awards were bestowed upon Stephen Kliegerman (President, Development Marketing, Brown Harris Stevens) for Distinguished Business Real Estate, Fern Mallis (NYFW Founder) for Distinguished Fashion Cares, and DJ CherishTheLuv (Broadway Co-Producer & DJ, 2024 Tony Nominated “Here Lies Love”) for Distinguished Cancer Crusader.

The evening culminated in a thrilling live auction, fostering a spirit of generosity and uniting guests in the shared mission of conquering cancer.
