ROCKY POINT, NY – Authorities are actively searching for a 23-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his father early Saturday morning at their Rocky Point home in Suffolk County. The suspect, identified as Matthew Zoll, is wanted in connection with the death of his father, 61-year-old Joseph Zoll.
The incident took place at approximately 1:25 a.m. at 30 Quail Road, where officers responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing. Upon arrival, police found Joseph Zoll severely injured. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Matthew Zoll is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a distinct scar under his left eye and is believed to be on foot, as he does not have a vehicle. Police have released photos of Zoll to aid in the search and are appealing to the public for assistance.
The motive behind the alleged attack remains unclear.
