VALLEY STREAM, NY – According to Nassau County Fifth Squad Detectives, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at approximately 9:15 AM, Jonathan Louissaint, a 32-year-old resident of Valley Stream, was involved in a series of criminal activities in Valley Stream, New York.
Sequence of Events:
- Residential Break-In and Assault: Louissaint unlawfully entered a residence on Forest Avenue, where he assaulted a 24-year-old male by punching him in the face and striking his hand with a metal bar.
- Convenience Store Assault: Following the initial assault, Louissaint proceeded to a nearby 7-Eleven located at 100 Sunrise Highway. Inside the store, he struck a 35-year-old male on the hand with a beer can.
- Attempted Vehicle Entries and Car Theft: After leaving the 7-Eleven, Louissaint attempted to enter multiple occupied vehicles in the vicinity. He eventually entered an unoccupied 2020 Hyundai that was parked and running on Rockaway Parkway and fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
- Collision and Additional Damage: While driving the stolen Hyundai, Louissaint collided with a 2020 Toyota occupied by a 29-year-old female and a 64-year-old male near the intersection of New Hyde Park Road and Auburn Street. He also struck a parked car, which subsequently damaged a business sign.
- Confrontation with Law Enforcement: Upon being apprehended at the scene of the accident, Louissaint became combative and injured a responding officer by striking him in the face.
Injuries and Medical Attention:
- The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
- The occupants of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and were also taken to a nearby hospital.
- Other victims involved declined further medical attention.
Charges:
Jonathan Louissaint faces multiple charges, including:
- Burglary in the 1st Degree
- Two counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree
- Robbery in the 1st Degree
- Two counts of Attempted Robbery in the 2nd Degree
- Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree
- Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree
- Two counts of Attempted Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree
- Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree
- Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations
He was scheduled for arraignment on Monday, January 27, 2025, at First District Court in Hempstead.
