Elmont Man with Multiple Warrants Arrested After Violent Struggle with Police

​ELMONT, NY – On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at approximately 3:50 PM in Elmont, Nassau County Police officers identified 29-year-old Hurguens Jasmin of South King Street, who had multiple outstanding warrants. Upon approach, Jasmin attempted to flee, leading officers through several backyards and damaging a fence. During his apprehension, Jasmin resisted arrest, resulting in injuries to three officers. A black billy club was found in his possession. Both Jasmin and the injured officers received medical treatment at a local hospital.

Jasmin faces charges including three counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree. His arraignment is scheduled for Friday, March 21, 2025, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.

Prior to this incident, Jasmin had outstanding warrants for three counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree, two counts of Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Contempt in the 1st and 2nd Degrees, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree.

Notably, this is not Jasmin’s first violent encounter with law enforcement. On January 11, 2025, he was arrested in Elmont after violently resisting officers who recognized him due to an active Nassau County arrest warrant. During that incident, Jasmin assaulted officers, including attempting to gouge one officer’s eye, leading to charges of Assault in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and an active Nassau County warrant. Further investigation at that time revealed additional charges for two counts of Criminal Contempt.
